The space
There are great views from the outdoor elevated patio which is perfect for lounging by the pool, and having an evening BBQ.
The home is elevated so there is a sense of security and privacy.
The neighbourhood has a local feel while being very close to the beach and local amenities.
Guest access
Guests will have exclusive access to the house, pool, private parking and close proximity to the best beaches in Barbados.
Ancient grove blends naturally into the outside world with its many balconies, creating an unforgettable Caribbean experience.
The space
Ancient Grove is located in a unique setting perched above an ancient gully. Guests will be immersed in a lush environment surrounded by songbirds and stunning views.
A quiet comfortable stay, with all the luxuries of home but the experience of living in luxury within a tropical jungle.
For your comfort all the bedrooms are equipped with carefully selected linens, pillows and towels.
The housekeeper comes mid week to make sure the villa is taken care of so you can just sit back and relax.
The dinning room is set up to accommodate a spacious 6-10 person meal. The comfortable indoor and outdoor living rooms will each easily seat 8.
There are 4 bedrooms that comfortably accommodate up to 9 people.
Master Bedroom:
King size bed, two large closets with hanging and folding space, 1 safe for valuables, balcony overlooking the gardens and infinity edge pool, reading nook. En-suite bathroom includes inside/outside shower with balcony overlooking the dense jungle, two sinks with complimentary toiletries (cotton pads, ear plugs, hand soap) and comfort recline bathtub. This bedroom is on the 2nd floor and has Air Conditioning.
Queen Bedroom:
Queen size bed, two closets with hanging and folding space, balcony with jungle and pool views, single bed/day bed for guest, child, or midday relaxation with a book in its own private area of the room. En-suite bathroom with shower and sink including complimentary toiletries (cotton pads, ear plugs, hand soap). This bedroom is on the 2nd floor and has Air Conditioning.
Queen Bedroom:
Queen size bed, two large closets with hanging and folding space, make-up nook with jewelry trays to keep your items organized. En-suite bathroom with shower and separate bathtub, sink with complimentary toiletries (cotton pads, ear plugs, hand soap). This bedroom is on the main level and has Air Conditioning.
Guest bedroom:
Queen size bed with two size tables and shelves for clothing.
This bedroom is on the main level and has access to a powder room.
The 30-foot infinity pool, pool deck, lounge chairs, lush tropical landscape and shaded gazebo are there for your enjoyment. The pool is only shared with one other villa on the other side of the property.
The home is available for its guests exclusively. Our villa manager Natalie, will be there to meet you when you arrive, show you around and answer any questions you might have.
Ancient Grove is perfectly located on the West coast of Barbados within a 5 minute drive to some of the worlds best beaches, restaurants and shopping.
Speightstown, a five minute drive away is a lively little fishing town with local and world class dinning options. As well as banks, a supermarket, pharmacy, shopping and fish market.
Pristine white sand beaches fully equipped with lounge chairs and water sport options are within a 5-8 minute drive.
Because there is so much to see and do in Barbados we highly recommend hiring a car so that your experience here is optimized. However if you prefer we can recommend a reliable taxi or chauffeur service.
Your villa includes two private car parking spaces.
Ancient grove is a short drive away from three championship golf courses; Royal Westmoreland, Sandy Lane Green Monkey and Apes hill as well as polo and tennis clubs.
At Ancient grove our intention is to make our guests experience as special as possible and we are happy to arrange to have the home stocked with your favorite wines prior to arrival as well as a private chef to prepare meals ($)
Therapeutic massages in the gazebo or your private room are always an option within 48 hour notice.($)
For large groups that require more space please consider also renting Ancient Grove One which is located on the other side of the property, which will give you exclusive access to the whole property and 5 additional bedrooms, which is ideal for wedding parties, family vacations or any larger function. Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole house, infinity edge pool, pool deck and lounge chairs, landscaped gardens and two parking spaces.
Please note that the pool is shared with Ancient Grove One which is on the other side of the property. However you will find that most often you will have the pool to yourself.
Other things to note
The elevation at Ancient Grove allows for a constant breeze flowing through the house allowing its guests to sleep comfortably without the need for air conditioning.
There is Air Conditioning in the three master bedrooms for your additional comfort if desired.
For groups of up to 18 people we have Ancient Grove One on the same property , separated by a grove of trees the two homes enjoy their own privacy while be accessible to one another. Perfect for wedding parties, reunions and family vacations. (please contact us about booking both houses)

We are pleased to announce that we also have a third Villa 10 minutes by car from Ancient Grove which is called Fairway crossings.
The space
Ancient Grove is the ideal big group, family, multi-family vacation rental, luxury retreat accommodation or bridal party venue.
If this sounds like you, read on!
There are two main villas on either side of the property, one with three en-suite bedrooms, one guest room, full kitchen, dinning table for 10-12, huge living room and comfortable balcony. (All en-suite bedrooms have air conditioning)
Then as you walk out of this villa, along the gorgeous stone path, pass the 30′ infinity edge pool and sun loungers, go by the gazebo with hammocks perfectly position to watch the sunset, you walk up the steps to the second villa all gorgeously surrounded with tropical plants and flowers.
As you approach the second villa you will see the sweetest little cabin just before the main house, gorgeously decorated and surrounded by trees with a big queen size bed and little en-suite bathroom.
Then up a couple more steps, passing the koi pond, you enter the second villa.
Walk past its huge welcoming living room and kitchen and onto the massive balcony that runs the whole length of the house, perched on top of an ancient gully and overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the ideal location to watch the evening sun set.
This villa is complete with a huge master bedroom and private semi-outdoor shower (with the most incredible view), two beautiful queen bedrooms with shared bathroom and a powder room for the guests.
(All bedrooms in the main house have air-conditioning!)
We also have a third Villa which is a 10 minute drive from Ancient Grove which is called Fairway crossing it accommodates four people a two bedroom gem located right beside a beautiful golf course it’s great for gorgeous views and walks.
This space is ideal because you can be close to your friends and family while still having your own space. The large living room and balcony are ideal for large gatherings, workshops, wedding preparations, yoga classes and communal meals.
Our villa manager will always be close to help you with anything you need. If you would like a cleaning done during your stay there is an extra cost of 160.00 US for both homes, please let us know in advance.
We are happy to arrange taxi service, and grocery delivery from the best and freshest farms on the island.
Not to mention, for those who are wanting to explore the island, we offer discounts on car rentals and have a private parking lot for 6 cars!

Insects are very rarely an inconvenience thanks to the abundant amount of birds and tree frogs on the property.
Please, no persons other than registered guests are allowed to stay in the villa during your stay. No parties are allowed unless the whole property is reserved by the same guests.

It is a 7 minute drive to Burke Mountain or hike to the Shelburne lift in 20 min. Skin up Burke from the property, snowmobile out of the driveway pedal onto the Kingdom Trails….endless experiences await you. There are snowshoes for your leisure trek through the acres of woods. Or utilize your own equipment, safely stored in the ample size garage, and xc-ski the exclusive ski/snowshoe touring trails on site. Enjoy the peaceful pond and acreage on foot. Play all day the entertain with your close friends in style with high end amenities. Listen to your favorite tunes on the Sonos Sound System and challenge your kin to a game of darts, ping pong or any one of the family games. For high entertainment value use the Karaoke Machine and see who is little ‘pitchy’ while the fire blazes in the fireplace, sure to stay crackling with the ample supply of dried kiln wood at your disposal. Meal prep is no longer a chore when you cook in style. Cook up some fresh farm eggs or prepare your favorite cut of beef from the Organic farm just down the road. When it is time to gather for a meal enjoy the spread you created at either the 10 person formal dining table or the 8 person table off the kitchen. In the summer eat outside on the deck or enjoy your favorite beverage on one of the decks taking in all the views with no neighbors in site…or gather around the outdoor fire pit.o You can’t go wrong or be bored at this beautiful off grid house with the state of the art solar panels and batteries…just show up and revel in peace.
